Research and education in the Materials Science and Engineering Department involves the study of advanced materials including metals and their composites, polymers silicon and bio-materials and their potential use in various applications.

Ramachandran Earns Spring 2016 CARE Award
Dr. Hobson Wildenthal, UT Dallas president ad interim, recently presented Nithya Ramachandran, business manager in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, a Celebrate Achievement and Reward Excellence Award. The Staff CARE Award is given for superior performance that has enhanced the image of the University.
