  1. Meet standards equivalent to those currently required for admission to the PhD or master's degree programs in materials science, electrical engineering, chemistry, physics or biology.

  2. Application
Complete the Graduate Application for Admission here.

  3. GRE Scores
Upload digital copies of your unofficial GRE scores using the online graduate application.  Advisable minimum GRE revised scores are 154 for verbal, 154 for quantitative, and 4 for analytical writing.  Send the official scores after admission to avoid processing delays.  GRE scores must be no more than 5 years old by date of application.  More information is available here.

  4. Narrative

  5. Three Letters of Recommendation
Provide three letters of recommendation from individuals who are able to judge your ability to succeed in the program, including your work ethic and scholastic abilities.  Use the electronic request form in the graduate application to submit the letters.  For applicants currently in another PhD program who are planning to transfer to MSE at UT Dallas, a letter from the current PhD advisor is strongly encouraged.

  6. Transcripts
Provide digital copies of your unofficial transcripts from all universities attended using the online application.  Mail your official documents only after admission, or processing delays may result.

  7. Application Fee
Pay the $50 application fee.  More information is available here.
Exceptions:  The application fee is waived if a student has graduated from UTD or if the student is continuously attending UTD.
