SiWEDS Fall 2002 Review Meeting at Salt Lake City, UT

The Fall 2002 SiWEDS Review meeting will be held at the The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. The technical SiWEDS Program will start on Friday, October 25th and will be chaired by George Rozgonyi. A social dinner buffet, for which all  SiWEDS members and guests are cordially invited, is planned for the evening of October 24th. More details about exact room location, program , time schedule and how to get there will be published on this web-site as soon as the details become available.

The program will follow the general format of previous one-day Fall meetings. In line with our new SiGe efforts Dr. McDonald Robinson, Chief Technical Officer of Lawrence Semiconductor Research Laboratory (a prospective SiWEDS member) will speak on SiGe epitaxial materials.In addition, Dr.Hailing Tu, President of GriTek in Beijing, China will give a short introduction on silicon materials at his company and in China, in general. Although, the time for non-SiWEDS speakers is limited, suggestions for non-SiWEDS speakers may be submitted to George Rozgonyi at NC State University.             . 
All those planning to attend the meeting need to make their own reservations with the The Grant America Hotel. As this meeting has been arranged to segue with The Electrochemical Society 202nd meeting at the same hotel you will receive the same reduced rate accommodation as the attendees of the ECS meeting.

The Grand America Hotel reservations can be made by calling the reservations department at  800- 453-9450 or directly 801-596-5966, or by fax at 801-258-6811 . The deadline for reservations is September 20, 2002. Reservations received after the deadline will only be accepted on a space available basis. Be sure to mention that you are planning to attend the 202nd Meeting of The Electrochemical Society, in order to obtain the special reduced convention rate. The special ECS meeting rates are:

                                                Premiere Rooms - $144 s/d (normally $235-$265)
                                                Executive Suites -  $154 s/d (normally $335-$350)
Transportation:

The Grand America Hotel is located approximately 15 minutes driving distance from the airport. There is a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport for Grand Hotel guests that runs 7days a week every twenty minutes on the hour between the hours of 6:00AM and 10:00PM. Outside of these hours contact the hotel at the courtesy phone in the luggage area upon arrival in Salt Lake City to order a pick up. In addition, taxi service is also available and will cost approximately $30 each way from the hotel to the airport. TRAX, the city's new light rail system is now up and running. It provides a rapid mode of transportation to downtown shopping and attractions. The station is conveniently located a half block from the Grand Hotel, and best of all, the light rail ride to downtown falls within the Free Fare Zone.

Note: Delta Airlines has been designated as the "official" carrier for the ECS 202nd Meeting. Delta offers a majority of the flights in and out of Salt Lake City. Delta Airlines is offering special discounted meeting fares. A 5% discount off the lowest applicable fare will be applied when you book your ticket at least 30 days in advance of travel dates. Call Delta's toll free reservation number at 1-800-241-6760 (outside the U.S., call your local Delta reservations office) and refer to the special 202nd ECS Meeting Delta File Number 187437A.

Furthermore, I would like to urge all attendees to complete and submit the SiWEDS "MEETING REGISTRATION FORM" . Because, I need to know as soon as possible the number of attendees in order to plan the logistics of the meeting.
