Spring 2001 Review meeting April 19 -20, 2001 at Lafayette, CA

The Spring 2001 SiWEDS Review meeting will be held at the Lafayette Park Hotel in Lafayette, California. The hotel is located in the heart of Contra Costa County, about 35 minutes (by BART) from San Francisco.  Eicke Weber from UC Berkeley will host the meeting. The technical  SiWEDS Program will start on Thursday, April 19th, 2001 at 1:00PM to allow for morning flights and Thursday hotel check-in. Overseas travelers can spend Wednesday night at the SiWEDS group rate. Adjournment is planned for Friday April 20 at 4:30PM.  There will be a wine tasting, followed by a social dinner on Thursday evening for all SiWEDS members and participants. Attendees, already in San Francisco for the MRS meeting, can take the BART from San Francisco direction Walnut Creek/Concord, exit at the Lafayette station and call  the hotel (use the hotel telephone at the Lafayette BART station). The hotel will send a free shuttle for pick-up, which is a 5 min. ride. For more details check on "Directions" at the Lafayette Park Hotel web site.

More details about meeting room, theme, program,  schedule, etc. will be posted on the SiWEDS web-site, as soon as details become available (click on  "Tentative Program").

The  program will follow the general format of previous Spring meetings . Suggestions for industrial or non-SiWEDS speakers should be submitted to George Rozgonyi or Eicke Weber. 

All those planning to attend the meeting need to make their own reservations with the Lafayette Park Hotel. The hotel  reservations telephone number is (925) 283-3700, toll free (800) 368-2468, or fax (925) 284-1621.  Eicke Weber has arranged the following special rate for SiWEDS members attending the meeting:

    Single or Double Occupancy  - $169 per night        

The deadline for reservations is March 31, 2001. In order to obtain the special SiWEDS rate listed above (standard rate is $240), you need to  mention that you are planning to attend the SiWEDS meeting.

Furthermore, I would like to urge the attendees to complete and submit the "MEETING REGISTRATION  FORM"(click on),  since we need to know as soon as possible the number of attendees.
