Due to a conflict with the MRS Symposium program and the SiWEDS meeting on April 15, 2004 the IAB has decided to change the Spring SiWEDS 2004 Review meeting to Friday and Saturday, April 16 and 17, 2004, instead of original planned dates of April 15 and 16. 

The meeting will be held at the Stanford University in California, and Piero Pianetta will host the meeting. The technical SiWEDS Program will start on Friday April 16th, 2004 at 8.00AM with a continental breakfast at the meeting room (SLAC Bldg 48-Redwood Room A/B). On Friday evening we plan to have a social dinner at the Stanford Faculty Club for all SiWEDS members and participants. The program will follow the general format of a two days SiWEDS meeting. 

We plan to have one guest speaker on the Photovoltaics roadmap and suggestions for additional non-SiWEDS speakers may be submitted to George Rozgonyi at NC State University. However, inline with the request from the industry members at the fall meeting in Orlando to increase the presentation time for students and universities, the time for non-SiWEDS speakers is limited.

For all  meeting attendees we have arranged a guaranteed reservation (check-in on 4-15-2004) and a group rate at the SLAC Guest House in Palo Alto, which is at the Stanford campus. All those planning to attend the meeting and to stay at the SLAC Guest House need to make their own reservation with the Guest House.The rates for SiWEDS meeting attendees are:

            Full size – rate $50/night + 10% occupancy tax + state tax

            Queen size – rate $65/night + 10% occupancy tax + state tax

Please refer to " Group Account #82644" (under "Eligibility Information") and  “SiWEDS Group Meeting" (under "Reason for Visit"). Reservation by phone (650-926-2800) seems also to be possible.

Deadline for guaranteed reservations and committed rate is April 1. After this date, reservation at the Guest House will be on availability basis only. Additional information e.g. accommodations, driving directions are available on the same web site.

If there is enough interest, Piero Pianetta is willing to organize a lab tour at the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratories in the afternoon of Thursday 15th at 4:00PM. More details about lab tour, meeting room, theme, and program will be posted on this SiWEDS web site as more details become available. 

Furthermore, I would like to urge all attendees to complete and submit the SiWEDS “Meeting Registration Form”, because I need to

know as soon as possible the number of attendees in order to plan the logistics of the meeting.
