Overview

Dr. Vandenberghe’s research team focuses on the study of electron transport at the nanoscale using theoretical methods towards the development of new materials and devices. Specifically, they want to exploit quantum mechanical effects to realize new devices with improved performance, energy efficiency or new functionality.

Research Interests

  • eEectron transport at the nanoscale using theoretical methods
  • Use of two-dimensional materials and topological insulators for new devices
  • Transport in tunnel field-effect transistors (TFETs) and their principle of operation band-to-band tunneling (BTBT)
