Dr. Julia Hsu

Fabricating Silver Nanowire–IZO Composite Transparent Conducting Electrodes at Roll-to-Roll Speed for Perovskite Solar Cells” was published in Nanomanufacturing. The study is by Justin C. Bonner, Bishal Bhandari, Garrett J. Vander Stouw, Geethanjali Bingi, Kurt A. Schroder, Julia E. Huddy, William J. Scheideler, Julia W. P. Hsu.

With this study, Dr. Hsu’s team addressed the challenges of producing flexible transparent conducting electrodes at large scale by using a high-speed roll-to-roll compatible method that combines gravure printing and photonic curing. The high-performance hybrid TCEs produced using R2R-compatible processes show potential as a viable choice for replacing vacuum-deposited indium tin oxide films on PET. Read the study for more.

“Battery safety and security for electric urban air mobility” was published in the journal Cell Reports Physical Science. The authors of the article are Jiaqi Ke, Dipali Jain, Jiayi Zhang, Boyu Wang, Yiorgos Makris, Kyeongjae Cho, Kaveh Shamsi, and Laisuo Su.

With this article, Dr. Laisuo Su and his group identify the unique safety and cybersecurity risks associated with batteries for electric urban air mobility and argue for a safety- and security-by-design approach. Their perspective outlines integrated technical and standards-based strategies needed to enable airworthy and resilient eUAM battery systems.
